 The XLI Jornadas Portuguesas de Genética will be held in the new building of the Department of Medical Sciences (DCM), the youngest department of the University of Aveiro. The Jornadas are organized by the research team of the new Institute of Biomedicine – iBiMED. We are strongly committed to the development and promotion of genetics, genomics and bioinformatics in Portugal. The iBiMED is honored and privileged to collaborate with the Portuguese Genetics Society on the organization of its XLI Jornadas de Genética. We warmly welcome your participation in this important event of our genetics community.

How to get here:

• By Air

The closest airport to Aveiro is Francisco Sá Carneiro International Airport in Oporto. It is located at around 70kms north of Aveiro.

At the airport, there are various car hire agencies and a taxi ride to the train station (Porto-Campanhã) takes less than 20 minutes and costs around 25€. Alternatively, this trip can be done by Metro (Violet Line, E – towards Estádio do Dragão, and takes about 35 minutes).

• By Car 

At the airport there are various car hire agencies. Follow the signs for the A1 motorway in the direction of Lisbon (there is a toll charge of around 5€, and can be paid in cash or with

a credit/debit card). Leave the A1 at the exit for Aveiro and take the A25.

• By Train

The train is the most practical way of making the journey to Aveiro. The trip between Porto-Campanhã and Aveiro takes from 50 min. to 1h:10 min. with the Oporto Urban services (U).

Aveiro train station is located at about 25 minutes walking distance or 5 min. taxi ride from the University Campus (35 min. walking distance to the Department of Medical Sciences, 7 min. with taxi). To reach the Campus, you can also use the bus.
